
Roger Ciuffo, Principal: Roger possesses a diverse background in historic preservation, having completed numerous projects in Cultural Resource Management ranging from National Register Nominations, historic research, condition assessments, Historic Preservation Tax Credits, story maps as well as historic interpretive exhibits.
With a Master’s of Science degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Vermont (2004) and a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from The Pennsylvania State University (1999), Roger’s expertise focuses on assisting his clients from start to finish in completing their project on time and within budget. His work with the National Park Service, numerous public, private and governmental agencies has resulted in a well-balanced background and experience in many types of preservation activities. Roger is also 36 CFR 61 qualified as an Architectural Historian (National Park Service standards).
Roger has over 30-years project management experience and as worked as a professional architectural and cultural resource historian across the states of Delaware, Iowa, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and numerous other states and territories. His experience includes managing and conducting architectural surveys and historical research for a variety of local, state and federal agencies. Projects have included large- and small-scale surveys of historic and non-historic resources, cultural resource landscapes, and individual property nominations for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
Roger has also conducted architectural conditions assessments for clients that have included local historical societies and United States military (Air Force, Air National Guard, U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserves, Marines and the Navy). He has written numerous National Register eligibility evaluations; completed Historic American Building Surveys (HABS) and Historic American Engineering Records (HAER) documentation and reports; completed historical documentation and project impact assessments (in fulfillment of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act) as well as conducted environmental reviews under Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation (DOT) Act, Section 110 and the National Environmental Policy Act. I have also completed historic tax credit applications as well as written Programmatic Agreements and Memorandum of Agreements with creative mitigation solutions.
